President Cohen was unanimously elected in June by the Board of Supervisors to serve as its legislative branch president. Cohen has been a steadfast advocate on a number of issues, including police reform and the implementation of a soda tax designed to help in “reducing health disparities for people of color and working class people.” She remains committed to supporting people with the greatest need; says Cohen, “It is so humbling to see young children come up to me and say, ‘you’re my role model and I admire you.’”
