Meet the Soul Sisters Guided By The She-Compass
“We’re twins because we have the same soul.” - Jia Sarnicola
Our angels often come in packages we least expect. Meet “twins” Zuri Copeland and Jia Sarnicola, who as Jia’s mother Ashley will confirm, “will tell you they are twins and they have a long list of reasons why.”

The girls proudly defend their relationship, indicating that they’re both age 4, have birthdays that are only 2 days apart, and are also close in height. And their insistence on wearing matching outfits whenever possible underscores their belief in the twinship they share.

The real-world pressures of raising these enlightened girls in a world where racism and discrimination is alive and well is not lost on Zuri’s mother Valencia. “You’re happy, then you become sad because they have to grow up and society takes over,” she says.
But right now, these girls have it all handled. When a playmate at a birthday party recently proclaimed they couldn’t be twins because they each had a different skin-color, Jia, though visibly pained by the remark, was already a step ahead. “We’re twins because we have the same soul,” she said. These young ladies are proving it’s never to early to start finding our She-Compass.
