"Fupping" Features "Finding Our She-Compass" In Top-20 Lists of Books to Read an

Generally speaking, it’s rare when one book can speak directly to women across age groups, racial lines, and socio-economic strata, but that’s exactly the thinking author Helen Owens had in mind when she wrote Finding Our She-Compass: 15 Life Lessons for Women Voyaging Toward Restoration, Reconstruction, and Renewal. Owens's positioning has apparently made an impact: the book is featured in three of Fupping's lists of top-20 books to read and recommend.

Storyteller’s Reward

One thing most authors have in common, besides writing our books, is realizing the enjoyment others get from reading the stories we've worked long hand hard to share. She-Compass is excited to announce that Finding Our She-Compass is featured as recommended reading in Fupping, a “revolutionary up and coming content creation platform” driven by readers who are encouraged to “create” and “sculpt the future of our company.” Unlike traditional self-help books that tell readers to do X-Y-Z to achieve certain goals, Finding Our She-Compass leads readers to answers through the power of personal narrative.

The stories feature women from all walks of life—many in positions of leadership and authority—who once struggled with knowing their purpose, but found their voices during their journeys to self-discovery. The true-life stories use a perfectly measured combination of grace, humor, comedy, wit, and true compassion, and its words of wisdom leave us all feeling empowered, confident, and renewed. Most importantly, Finding Our She-Compass helps us reflect on how we can be better to ourselves and others at any stage in our lives.

Fupping seems to agree—check out the list of book recommendations on which Finding Our She-Compass is included.

A Book Recommendation in Three Acts

Finding Our She-Compass is featured in three book-recommendation lists on Fupping’s website.

The first, 13 Self-Discovery Books for Young Adults, features books that help “understand yourself a little better” without waiting until “later in life” to find answers to some of life’s burning questions. Titles in this list include self-help books like Picture of Me: Who I am in 221 Questions, and memoirs like Searching for God in the Garbage, where author Bracha Goetz “unflinchingly details her experience uncovering her truth.” So far, the book-recommendation list has been shared 62 times and Finding Our She-Compass ranks number 6 on the list. Readers can move their favorite books higher on the list by up-voting; comments and reviews on the book are also welcome.

The second list, titled 18 Books for Women in their 50s, features “self-help” to “page turners” and is especially designed to appeal to women seeking answers as they cross into mid-life. The list has been shared 55 times, and Finding Our She-Compass ranks number 8 on the list. It’s joined by New York Times best-sellers like A Year of Yes by ABC-Thursday-night-TV-owner and media-mogul Shonda Rhimes, and Wild by Cheryl Strayed, which has been made into a major motion picture.

List number 3 is 12 Books your Boyfriend Would Love. Wait, what? Isn’t Finding Our She-Compass a book for empowering women? Of course. But it’s also a book about female relationships: While women readers will “automatically recognize someone they know,” men gain “the inside information they need to understand why women behave the way they do towards them and others. The book takes a no-holds-barred look at the way women use emotion to control situations.” The book is currently ranked number 3 on the list and the article has been shared 26 times.
